Building Update 10/17/09

Building Update 10-14-2009

All of the exterior doors are now in place as well as the glass above the main entrance. The drop ceiling contractor is on site and has completed the grid along the hallway next to the loop and is starting the grid on the opposite hallway. Creative Sound and Lighting has completed the drops for the 2 video cameras and is now working on the stage lighting. It's been an exciting week. Hope to upload some new pictures later today.

Building Update 10/10/09

Guess I jumped the gun on some of the contractors last week. This week the glass contractor will be in to finish all of the outside doors along with the main entrance glass and the ceiling contractor will be in to lay in the drop ceiling grid. Once the grid is installed, other contractors will be back in to install the ceiling lights in the grid along with the HVAC people to install the deflectors in the ceiling. Additionally, the company that installed the sprinkler system will adjust the sprinkler heads to the ceiling grid. Within the next couple of weeks, the concrete slabs at each entrance will be poured along with covers over some of the entrances. Once the concrete slabs are poured, then the asphalt contractor will be able to lay the asphalt on the limited parking lot next to the new builing. These spaces will be limited to Handicap and Visitor parking.

Creative Sound and Lighting continues to work on site and will be installing the drops for the video cameras as well the frames for the stage lighting.

Inside the Auditorium

The lighting is complete and the ceiling has all been painted flat black.

Outside Walls

The outside of the building is getting closer to being finished each day. The stucco above the brick is now done and the soffit is almost complete. The glass contractor will be in early next week to complete the glass front and final glass door.

Week of October 4th

Lord willing, this week we will see lots of activity on site. The building contractor will be back to finished the soffit along the roof line of B Street, Creative Audio and Lighting will continue to work on the A/V system, the ceiling contractor will beging to lay in the grid for the drop ceiling in the hall ways, foyer and all other rooms excluding the auditorium, and finally, the glass contractor will be here to finished all of the outside entrances. Wow, don't blink or you might miss something.

This is the main entrace and is soon to be finished. The glass and doors will be installed this week.

Let The Speakers Speak

Creative Audio and Visual started their six week install of the audio/visual gear. The first week saw the addition of the boxes installed on the stage floor, all the wiring to the boxes and conduit between the boxes and the amp room.

This week, Creative installed the a bundle of wire between the sound booth and the amp room and "flew" the speakers that you see in the picture above and if all goes well, next week will bring the supporting structures for the stage lighting.

This is one of the entrances on the Loop side of the building. This will probably become one of the main entrances since this is the closest entrance to the City parking lots.

Answered Prayer

All we had to do was ask. AEP set the power pole. Now we'll have power and lights in a matter of days.

Update June 18, 2009

The Drywall is going up quickly. Plumbing, Electrical, and Brick work continues. Please pray that AEP will set our pole very soon!

Building Update

Sorry for the silence, but there hasn't been a lot of noticable changes to the building. However, a lot has been going on in the not-so-easily-seen areas of the building. Here are some examples:

Also, the electrical contractor has been doing some preliminary work as too has the sprinkler system contractor. We're ordering the plumbing fixtures and baptistry. And the ceiling design is underway. Busy, busy, busy.
